The Legacy

The late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., once said, "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy."

If there were ever a time of "challenge and controversy" the passing of 2021 AND 2022 should be at the forefront for all of us.

Now we stand. The Improvement League of Plant City will be hosting the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Cultural Arts Festival starting January 13, 2023 with signature events scheduled through January 21, 2023. The Parade and Black Brown Expo will be held on Saturday January 14, 2023 at the Sadye Gibbs Martin Community Center, 302 South Maryland Ave and MLK Leadership Breakfast will be held on Sunday January 15, 2023 at HCC Trinkle Center.

This cultural festival is generally held in Plant City during the month of January featuring a variety of family oriented activities. Timed to coincide with the national holiday commemorating the life of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Festival provides an all-inclusive setting in which citizens of every ethnic background can experience and celebrate the contributions of African Americans to the culture of Hillsborough County & West Central Florida.

The health and safety of all citizens is our top priority. Together we will over come and celebrate the legacy and principals of the the late Dr. King.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN GETTING INVOLVED?.....Click on the Schedule Tab for Parade, Vendor and Drumline applications.
